Aztec

Hi everyone, Right now I am going nail polish crazy.
Welcome to my latest purchase, Aztec by Accessorize.

This retail for £4 and you can find it in Accessorize or larger Superdrug stores.

I love duochrome nail polishes and this one doesn't disappoint. It is so beautiful.
The application is really smooth however it took 3 coats to achieve this finish.

I definitely recommend checking it out.

I'm a bit stuck on ideas for posts at the moment so take the short survey to the right and let me know what you'd like to see.

Awaken

Hi everyone, I hope you all had an amazing christmas. I had a great time and got some fantastic presents. I'm not going to do a blog post showing everything I got but I will be posting about a few items that I love.

Today I am starting with one of my favourites. My first ever china glaze nail polish in the shade, Awaken.

It is a gorgeous gunmetal silver with a metallic finish. The application is gorgeous and it is opaque in one coat.

It is really universal and I have been wearing it every day since christmas and it has complimented all my outfits. Also, it is really long wearing.

I love this polish so much and I definitely recommend checking it out. I have managed to track it down on ebay.

Also a quick hi to my new followers, it's great to have you :)

Gel Nails

Hi everyone, as promised a post devoted to my gorgeous new nails. I found an amazing deal for a full set of nails including tips for £20. I booked up and now a week later I'm so glad I did.

The lady was very nice and persuaded me to go for a glitter gel coating rather than clear. It's very subtle but festive at the same time and I can still paint over them which is really good.

So here they are,

They are the perfect length and I like how they are not too square or rounded, they are just somewhere in the middle.

Anyway if you are thinking about having a set of these yourself and not sure what the procedure is and if it damages your nails i will give a brief overview.

It does damage your nails but this is a one off treat so I feel I can justify it.

The first step is she files your whole nail so it is coarse. For me this was the worst part because you can see the damage being done. Then you get the tips measured up and stuck on. After that you choose the length you want and then she files to tips into a nice shape. Then the gel layer goes on. It seems like your nail is going to be really thick because my lady used loads of gel but they file and buff it down so it's ok. Then there is more filing and buffing and she finishes off applying an oil which makes them really shiny.

Overall, I really recommend them as a treat for a special ocassion but I don't think I will make it a regular thing because of the damage to my nails. Once they are off I will do another post showing you my own nails and what condition they are in.

I hope this has been helpful,

Fab Sigma Brushes

Hi Everyone, just a quickie,

Sigma have released some amazing sets with their 18k gold brushes.

I so want to get my hands on these but living in the UK makes the price ridiculous. To ship these brushes to me will cost nearly £30 and it will take about 6-8 weeks.

However, if you are lucky to live in America definitely check out these as last minute gifts for people or maybe to treat yourself.

Santa is circling the neighbourhood!!!

Christmas is so close I can smell it. I am so excited. I hand in my final assignment tomorrow. Yay!!!!
Today I have been frantically wrapping presents and my room is looking like it has been hit by a bomb full of gift bags, labels and sellotape. Oh Well, I'm not in the mood for any more sorting. Right now I am curled up in my Primark sleepsuit and happily typing away. Bliss.

With christmas less than a week away I am going to be super busy. Tomorrow I am heading off to do some last minute christmas shopping and help Mum get all the final naughty food treats in.
In the afternoon I am going to finish my wrapping.
(She says with no intention of it actually happening)
Most likely I will curl up with my little dog by the fire.
(She says knowing that is exactly what is going to happen)

Anyway, who wouldn't want to snuggle up with this......??

Just to enlighten you on the rest of my week. I have booked in for my nails to be done, expect an upcoming post on that. Also I am getting my hair cut this thursday. I am thinking of having a fringe put in. I have been changing my mind every five seconds but at the moment my hair is a thick mass of frizz with no style so I have found a picture of my perfect fringe. I am going to print it off and see what will happen.

I like this fringe because is isn't completely thick. There is a few gaps and it is slightly choppy if that makes any sense. Hopefully my hair stylist will work wonders and transform my shapeless mass of hair into a gorgeous new style. Is that too much to ask???

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed my rather rambly post,

Silver goodies from Barry M

I was in boots and on the hunt for a silver glitter eyeshadow for christmas day.
Barry M came to my rescue again and tempted me with all their other offerings.
They had a deal where you spend £6 and get a free limited edition nail polish.
I went a little bit silver crazy and left with three gorgeous products that I love!!

I'll start of with the freebie.
It is a silver glitter polish that gives a completely opaque finish in three coats. It's not the easiest polish to apply but well worth the effort. If you were to buy this it would cost £3.99. Bargain!!!

I have two coats swatched on my thumb nail. I absolutely love it and am planning to pick up a few more for extra chritmas prezzies.

The second nail polish I picked up is one i've been wanting for a while but it's always been out of stock. It's the holographic silver polish. £2.99

It has really chunky glitter and it would take about 5 coats for a completely opaque finish but I am going to use this as a glitter topcoat.

The final item is the one I went in specifically to get. It's one of their glitter eye dusts. I have been wanting a thin silver glitter so use sparingly over eyeshadow to create a beautiful finish.

I finally decided on shade 3 because it is a white silver with blue reflects. It's gorgeous!!

The glitter is so finely milled and it doesn't fall of your eyelid which is really nice.

I am really impressed with this and i'm tempted to try a few more shades. They cost £4.50 a pot but they last for ages so I think its worth it.

NYX Flower

A few days ago I received my first every NYX product. I ordered from a website called Scensational perfumes. They stock loads of NYX cosmetics at quite a good discount. I recommend taking a look. Also they are having a christmas discount.
Enter XMAS5 for 5% off. It's not much but every little helps.

Anyway I purchased one of their round lipsticks in the shade flower. This cost £2.99

It is a bright pink with a silver metallic finish. It glides onto the lips really well and looks gorgeous. There is no need for lip liner or gloss. Slap it on and you're good to go.

I am really impressed with this lipstick and I want to order some more shades.
Is there any particular ones that you recommend, If so leave a comment and let me know,

My top tips for the perfect pink lip

Around christmas one of my favourite colours to wear is bright pink. Red doesn't suit my skin tone but I like to have a bright lip so pink works really well.
Here are the products I use to create my look. They are all really affordable.

The first thing I do is moisturise my lips. Here I am using Nivea milk and honey but anyone will do.

Next I take a dark lip liner. I find this works really well because it defines your lips more.
This one is mauve luxe from Elf.

Then take your favourite pink lipstick. The one i'm using is flirt from rimmel. I really like this because it's quite a dark hot pink and it has silver shimmer which is really pretty.

I think it looks very sophisticated on the lips.

Finally, top it off with a bright gum pink gloss. This one is called body pop and is from collection 2000.

Slap it on and you're done. The perfect pink lip.

I hope this has inspired you to have a go at creating a bright lip this christmas.

Scrub me clean

Body Shop has only ever meant one thing to me, Body Butters. Anything else i'm not really interested in. I think their makeup is quite pricey for the quality and I haven't really looked at their other offerings until now.

I was never really into body scrubs but they were having a deal where you buy a body butter and get a scrub half price. So I thought I would try them. I got the raspberry flavour purely because it matches the colour of my bedroom. :)

I have use this five or six times and I have decided I quite like it. Probably 6/10

It smells really nice, exactly like raspberry jam and it has raspberry pips/seeds which thoroughly exfoliate your body.

In the bath I scrub this into my skin first and use a moisturising shower milk or something because it is quite harsh to your skin. However, my skin does feel really soft afterwards and doesn't get quite so dry.

Overall I do like it but it is very messy to use and for some reason my pot is really hard to do up. Also it does have quite a hefty price tag of £12.50. I probably would not buy this again.

Hope this has been helpful,

Christmas Fun!

When it comes to Christmas I go all out. I have my very own (pink) Christmas tree for my room, I decorate the house from top to bottom and I rock my favourite festive jewellery.

Drum roll please............

I got these beauties two years ago in Claires in the January sales for about £2!!!!!!!
They look like they don't match because one has a ridiculous amount of glitter where the other one is quite sparse. I love the cute little Santa head and whenever I wear them I always get loads of compliments. Even though I have a ton of Christmas earrings these are my favourites and I will definitely be wearing them this Christmas day.

Tell me, do you have any cute festive jewellery?

Garnier Exfo-Brusher Review

I have always observed Garnier as a Brand from the comfort of my laptop and never tried any of their products. The other day I spotted this product with a massive discount, £9 reduced to £4.50.
I thought this would be a good chance to try out Garnier. I have been using this products religiously for over a week and I love it.

It has over 200 spikey bristle things that cleanse your pores and remove all the impurities. When I am using it I can feel my skin being deep cleaned.

The products is dispensed through a hole in the middle of the product. It's so easy to use. I slightly wet my face, unlock the product and squeeze. Its as easy as pie. :)

To unlock the product just twist the top blue bit 180 degrees anti clockwise. I like the fact you can lock it up so its easy to wash.

I clean the brush head every night after using it and it's really easy. Just lock the cap and rinse under cold water and they dry with a towel.

Onto the actual product. It's a watery blue soapy cleanser that lathers up really nicely. Be warned, keep your mouth shut when using it because it tastes HORRIBLE!!!!
It has a slight burning/tingling sensation that I quite like because it feels like your skin is being cleaned. After I use it my skin feels really soft and clean. I have not broken at all and it has helped to fade old acne scars.
I seriously love this and will continue to use this every night.

If you were wondering I still love my Liz Earl but I used up my cleanse and polish so I'm using this with the skin tonic and moisturiser afterwards.
